What do photoshoots and photos cost?
Our rates are competitive and affordable and our fee structure is simple: $25 for every ten minutes of shoot time, and $20 for each photo you decide to purchase. Location shoots start at 30 minutes. Shoots in our Corte Madera studio start at 10 minutes. For example, a 30-minute photo shoot is $75, and if you decide to purchase photos, they are $20 each. Discounted Buy All pricing is included with every photo shoot. Shoots longer than 1.5 hours are Buy All only (no single photo pricing).
How long do I have to wait to see my pictures after my shoot?
We shoot in real time! That means instant gratification. Log into your account on your phone and view your photos even before you leave your shoot location.
Do you do prints?
No. We shoot full size jpegs into your account that you buy, and then send to print providers (if you choose) like Shutterfly, Walgreens, Costco and others.
How do I book my photo shoot?
Log into your account in the Blink app on your phone, and follow the steps for booking a photo shoot. We will come to the location of your choice at the time of your choice, or you can book a shoot at one of our studios.
Can I use my smartphone to book my shoot?
Yes! We are an app so you can only use your phone to book your photo shoot. Just log into your account to book photo shoots, buy photos, and view past shoots.
Android: How do I create a new account?
If you are an Android user and you want to create a new Blink Inc account you can do so by using an iPhone with a working phone number. You will still need to use an iPhone or iPad to use the Blink Inc app.
If you want to set up a new Blink Inc account and you are an Android user: Use an iPhone to download and open the Blink Inc app > Create an account using your Android phone number > receive the verification number via text on your Android > enter the code on the iPhone.
Android: How do I activate my existing account?
If you have an existing Blink Inc account that was created with a mobile number that’s tied to Android phone: Please download the Blink Inc iOS app on to an iPhone > enter your Android mobile number in to app > receive the verification code on your Android phone > enter the code in to the app on the iPhone > You will now see your account using the iPhone.
If you have a preexisting account tied to an Android phone number you must be sure that the Android phone number is still valid and working. Blink Inc app notifications will be received on an iOS device with internet connection. The sms/text notifications will be received on the Android device since it carries the original phone number.
Do you accept cash?
No. Credit or debit only. Photo Shoots start at $25 for 10 minutes. Photos are $20 each.
Can I book back-to-back shoots?
Book only the time you need. If you need 20 minutes, book a 20-minute shoot. If you’re not sure about timing, please communicate with your Photographer using the in-app Contact feature and your Photographer will be glad to help you figure out the right shoot length.
What if I’m running late?
Please arrive to your shoot location on time. If you’re more than 10 minutes late to your location, you may need to be rescheduled to the next available shoot time. If you know you’re going to be late, please use our app to contact your Photographer or to reschedule your shoot.
What if my Photographer is running late?
We do our very best to arrive to your shoot location on time. If we are more than 10 minutes late, we will comp additional shoot time.
How much time do I need?
Headshot and Profile shoots usually need 30 minutes. Families, Kids and Content, or a Few Outfit Changes usually need 60 minutes or more. Office shoots usually require 1.5 hours or more. Birthday Parties, Fashion Lines, Products, Events, Large Groups, Entire Offices and Teams require 2 hours or longer depending on the number of products to shoot, length of event and number of people in the office. Feel free to use our in-app Contact feature to communicate with your Photographer about how much time they think is required for your shoot.
Can I book a 1 hour+ shoot for my event?
Yes! Many book an hour or more for special events, weddings, parties, sports games, products, and even fashion and shoots that require more set-up or involved art direction and styling.
Do you do birthday parties and other events?
Yes! Book 60+ minute shoots for your Birthday party or other events. We’ll capture the very best of any occasion with friends and family, wardrobe changes, hair and makeup stylists.
What other studio backgrounds do you have?
In the studios we shoot on white. On location we shoot where you will look best in the available lighting. If you have background requests or requirements, please communicate with your Photographer about your needs.
What should I wear to my photo shoot?
Wear what you love! Or, coordinate colors within your group for a cohesive look. Get creative, and you’ll love the photos!
Can I bring a change of clothes?
Yes! Many bring a few different “looks.”
Do you have props?
No. We encourage you to get creative and bring in your own to the photo shoot. In the studios we have beautiful wood apple boxes that can serve as benches, tables and shooting surfaces. On location we make use of what’s available.
Do you photograph babies?
Yes! We take great pride in our natural, candid, elegant approach to photographing babies. We’re also proud to work with families from maternity photos through growing up! We suggest a few items for your Baby photo shoot: favorite blanket, sheepskin, onesies and caps, binkies, bottles and booties. Feeding your baby right before the shoot leads to happy and content babies, and results in better pictures!
Do you do Product photography?
Yes! You can have a Photographer come to you, your studio, or any location or you can shoot at one of our studios. Just let you Photographer know ahead of time what you would like to do and whether or not you want to shoot on white, for example, and with supplemental lighting.
Can I bring my pets to the photo shoot?
Yes! We do pet photography of dogs and cats, and any animal that is safe to bring to the shoot location or into one of our studios.
Can I take Behind the Scenes (BTS) pictures during the photo shoot action with my cell phone?
Yes. We ask that you’re mindful of others around you because this can be distracting to the Photographer and those in the picture. We encourage you to share BTS shots on your stories, feeds, and snaps.
Can I reschedule my shoot?
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel a photoshoot 24 hours before the shoot date and time. If it’s within the 24hr period you can reschedule or cancel, but you will not receive a refund.
Can I cancel my shoot?
Yes. You will be charged for the shoot if you cancel within 24 hours.
How many pictures can you take during my 10-minute Profile shoot?
We can shoot a few “looks” and typically more than 80 pictures in a 10-minute Profile photo shoot.
How many people can I have in a photoshoot?
It really depends on the shoot location. We love to work with large groups and large families. Depending on the location, we get as many as 40 people into the picture.
In the studios, we can get up to 25 people on set at one time. Extended families are a good example. Many companies use us for larger groups for single profile/about page pics and team/group shots.
What kind of cameras do you use?
Our photographers use current DSLR cameras and lenses that are in semi-pro or pro model lines from Canon, Nikon, and Sony. In the studios we use 1DX series Canon cameras and EFL lenses.
Do you email me my purchased photos?
No. Your photos are available for viewing and purchasing instantly, as they are being captured, even before your shoot ends.
How do I get my photos?
First, you purchase them on our app using your account. Then, you save them to your Photos on your phone.
How do I purchase and save my photos?
- View your photos in your account on our app.
- Place the photos that you want to purchase in your Shopping Cart.
- If you want to Buy All of the photos from your shoot, click Buy All.
- Purchase your cart.
- Tap on purchased photos to save them or view your shoot and tap Save All to save all of the purchased photos from your shoot to your Photos.
How do I get photos from my phone to my computer?
Our favorite ways to get photos from a phone to a different device are: sync iCloud and Photos, airdrop photos to other devices, save photos to your Dropbox, Google Drive, or Google Photos.
Can I share my shoots?
Yes! Please share your shoot. It’s easy! Click on View Shoot, click the Share button, and add mobile phone numbers of those you want to share with.
What size are the photos, and can I get them in different sizes?
Our photos are full-size high res jpegs. We do not convert your photos to 300 DPI. We leave that up to you and/or your print provider so that you can decide on the resolution and size that best serves your needs.
Why are there watermarks on my photos?
Watermarks protect your photos from being used before they are purchased and downloaded.
The watermark disappears when you purchase photos.
Can I edit my photos?
Yes! Images are full-size jpegs and lend themselves to any edit that you can dream up.
Which editing apps do you suggest I use?
We suggest Photos, Instagram, Snapchat, Photoshop and Lightroom for iOS.
Do you retouch/edit/photoshop?
Retouching is not part of our app…yet. However, you can ask your Photographer if they do any retouching.
How big can I print the photos I download?
Your photos are full-size jpegs, and will print from 4” x 6” up to 30” x 60” at 300dpi. Many customers print them much larger. We’ve seen prints up to 20’. We do not convert your photos to 300 DPI. We leave that up to you and/or your print provider so that you can decide on the resolution that best serves your needs.
Where should I print my Blinks?
We suggest you upload your photos directly to Shutterfly, Walgreens, Costco, Target, and any photo or drugstore.
How long will my non-purchased photos be in my account?
Currently, there is no expiration date. Should Blink Inc change its policy, you will be notified.
How long will my purchased photos be in my account?
Currently, your purchased photos will be available in your account forever! Should Blink Inc change its policy, you will be notified.
How many people can I share my shoots with?
As many as you like.
Can others re-share my shoot?
No. Right now we offer one-step sharing.
Can those I share with buy photos from my shoot?
Yes! And they can also save your purchased photos to their Photos. Sharing is easy – click on View Shoot, click the Share button, and add mobile phone numbers of those you want to share with.
I don’t like the way I look in my shoot, what should I do?
First – get other opinions from those who know and love you. If you still don’t like how you look, please book another shoot and come in with a different wardrobe and/or hair and makeup.
Can I request a photographer?
Yes! Your Photographer is your choice. As long as the photographer is near your location, you can choose who you like.
If my shoot runs short, will I get a credit?
No. The time you book is the time you’ll have to shoot, so please let your Photographer help you maximize your time by shooting plenty of options.
If my shoot runs long, will I be charged?
Yes. The time you book is the time you’ll have to shoot. If you need to go over your booked time, you will be charged for the overage in 30 minute increments for location shoots and 10 minute increments for studio shoots. You will get a notification a few minutes before your shoot ends prompting you to book more time.
